South Yorkshire Police - letter/advice for parents & carers
Dear Colleagues
In light of last week's tragic death at All Saints Catholic High School, South Yorkshire Police (SYP) are requesting that you please disseminate the attached letter and advice sheet for parents and carers relating to knife crime.
Further advice and support is available from the following websites:
SYP appreciate that not everyone feels safe or comfortable talking to the police, so if you have information that you’d like to pass on anonymously, please visit:
The police are also working closely with Learn Sheffield on the development of their knife crime campaign, Knives Take Lives. They are currently creating appropriate lesson plans and inputs about knife crime for upper Key Stage Two, KS3, KS4 and also smaller group sessions for the more vulnerable youngsters in schools. This would be a South Yorkshire-wide resource and is expected by the end of March.
In the meantime, if you have any questions, comments or concerns relating to the incident, please send them to my colleague, John Featherstone, who will collate them on my behalf so I can respond in the near future.
Thank you for everything you do to keep our children and young people safe. Your time, kindness and efforts are always greatly appreciated.
Regards
Pat Butterell, Interim Director – Early Years and School Effectiveness
